Blur frontman Damon Albarn has revealed that he’s worked with Adele on new material.

The Britpop singer recently spoke to The Sun, stating that he was asked to collaborate with the singer ahead of her new album release.

“Adele asked me to work with her and I took the time out for her,” Albarn claimed. “I’m not a producer, so… I don’t know what is happening really. Will she use any of the stuff? I don’t think so. Let’s wait and see.”

He continued, “The thing is, she’s very insecure. And she doesn’t need to be, she’s still so young.”

Albarn also heard new music from Adele that could make its way onto her upcoming album, calling it “very middle of the road”.

Adele’s new album is reportedly set for a November release.

The untitled record, rumoured to be called ’25’, will include a song written by Tobias Jesso Jr, as well as input from producer Danger Mouse, OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder, and pop writer-producer Max Martin.

Earlier this year, producer Emile Haynie revealed he met with Adele in February to discuss potentially working together, but that the singer was “taking her time” over a new album. “We got along well as friends when we met in February and I hope we can cut some songs, but Adele is taking her time,” he said. “I’d push for it to happen, but we’ll have to wait and see.”

Adele’s previous album, ’21’, is the biggest-selling album of the decade so far in the UK. It spent 23 weeks at Number One and has sold over four million copies in the UK alone since its release.
